David Fleming is the author of four books and a Meadowlark Media correspondent. During the last three decades at Sports Illustrated, ESPN and Meadowlark, Fleming has been one of the industry’s most prolific, versatile, and imaginative longform storytellers, traveling the globe while penning more than 35 cover stories and numerous groundbreaking, award-winning pieces on everything from the Super Bowl, Steph Curry, the Musical Chairs World Championship, hockey dentists and sports fans on Death Row. Fleming’s unique work has earned numerous national awards, a hand-written note from the White House and in 2024 was recognized (for the 5th time) in the Year's Best Sports Writing Anthology. He is the author of Who's Your Founding Father? (history); Breaker Boys (NFL), Noah’s Rainbow (memoir), and, coming in October 2025 from St. Martin's Press: A Big Mess In Texas: The Miraculous, Disastrous 1952 Dallas Texans and the Craziest Untold Story in NFL History. A native of Detroit, and a former D1 wrestler, Fleming and his wife, Kim, live in North Carolina with their daughters.
