About me
Lisa Tung is the Founding Executive and Artistic Director of the MassArt Art Museum (MAAM). MAAM is Boston’s only free contemporary art museum, and a space to experience works by extraordinary artists at the forefront of contemporary art. Located on the vibrant Avenue of the Arts, the MassArt Art Museum is core to the creative community that is Massachusetts College of Art and Design, the nation’s first independent, state-supported public college of art and design. As MassArt’s esteemed teaching museum, MAAM is a resource for MassArt students and faculty -- educating students about contemporary art, partnering with faculty to support the curriculum, and preparing students for careers in the museum field. MAAM is also a kunsthalle, or non-collecting museum, showcasing temporary exhibitions by professional artists at all stages of their careers. As an extension of MassArt’s public mission, MAAM offers free pathways to education in the arts as well as high-profile panels and lectures that address timely and pressing issues.
