Nikhil Swaminathan is the CEO of Grist. Previously, he led the newsroom for five years. Prior to that, he was a digital producer for “Fault Lines,” a current affairs documentary film program that airs on Al Jazeera America and Al Jazeera English. Prior to that, he was a senior editor at Archaeology magazine and a freelance journalist based in Brooklyn, New York. He was also a reporter at Scientific American and an associate editor at SEED magazine. His work has appeared in both of those publications, as well as Newsweek, Mother Jones, The New York Post, The Village Voice, Scientific American Mind, Psychology Today and GOOD. He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia.
